This image was made on a walk on the beach from Del Mar to Torrey Pines in Southern California. It is a beautiful approximately two-mile stretch of sand and rock.

Sunset on the Rocks
Sometimes the best sunset shots aren't of the sun setting. When it comes to photography it is all about the light and shapes and color.
Piercing calls and distinctive wing markings make the otherwise subdued Willet one of our most conspicuous large shorebirds.
One of the most spectacular sights I have ever seen is a sunset while at sea. I was happy to be able to capture this Navy ship headed north across the sunset. Sometimes timing just works.
